At the Afghan Canadian Islamic Community (ACIC), we believe that hard work, academic excellence, and service to the community are essential foundations for success in both life and career. We also recognize the financial challenges that many face in pursuing higher education. To support our members, ACIC has established an annual scholarship program to help ease the financial burden for those attending college or university.
Each year, five deserving applicants will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship based on a combination of academic achievement, community involvement, and alignment with ACIC’s core values.
Must be an active ACIC member (individual or through family membership) with no outstanding balance from the previous year.
Must have completed at least one full year of post-secondary studies and be enrolled for the upcoming semester (proof of schedule required).
Applicants will be evaluated according to the following weighted criteria:
Academic Performance (25 points) – Based on GPA from the most recent academic year.
ACIC Involvement (25 points) – Volunteer roles, leadership, and participation in ACIC events.
Personal Statement (20 points) – A clear and compelling explanation of your goals, values, and how the scholarship will help.
Recommendation Letter (10 points) – From a teacher, employer, or community member attesting to your character and achievements.
The ACIC Annual Scholarship is more than just financial aid—it’s a celebration of dedication, service, and the pursuit of excellence. We look forward to supporting our future leaders as they continue their educational journeys.
